We are grateful to announce that Julian Hobdy will be joining our pastoral staff effective July 1st, 2019. Here is a brief introduction to Julian and his family.
Julian Hobdy is the proud husband of Jocelyn Hobdy and grateful father of three beautiful girls—Mya, Joi and Jordyn. A native Houstonian, Julian moved to the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex in 2006 after he and Jocelyn were married.
They now reside in Mansfield, TX, where Jocelyn is an Assistant Principal at Cora Spencer Elementary School. Julian is currently serving as the Digital Media Coordinator for the Central Texas Conference Service Center and has an extensive background in worship arts—most recently as the Director of Music for Grace United Methodist Church in Arlington, TX. Julian is a graduate of Texas Wesley University with a degree in Religion. He plans to begin his seminary education in the fall.
The thing that Julian would want you to know most is that he sees himself as a child of God, husband, father, brother, friend, and servant—in that order. He has a deep, abiding desire to help extend the Kingdom of God by sharing Christ with others, through his words and actions.
His passion is for people and helping them get to the ‘A-ha’ moments where life and faith collide. He firmly believes that Christ is the hope for the world, the church is the instrument through which Christ works in the world, and if the church will be the church, change will happen. In that respect, he agrees with St. Augustine’s belief that
Without God we cannot; without us, [God] will not.
Julian and his family are excited for this new adventure, and they look forward to being a part of the First Mansfield family!
