I appreciate your prayers for this trip and for the children we have the chance to meet for the first time this week.
Today I leave with 16 other participants on a trip to Guatemala. While there we will be connecting with the two communities of vulnerable children and youth that our church family is supporting in partnership with ZOE Ministry.
We will arrive and spend the night this evening in Guatemala City before heading to Quetzaltenango which will be our home base for the next few days.
On Friday we will be traveling to San Ramon to visit the Light and Hope group and on Saturday we will be in the village of Cantel to visit the Persistance group. The names of those who are a part of each of these two groups we sponsor are listed below.
About ZOE Ministry
For those who may not know about the work that ZOE does, they provide a three year empowerment program which is focused on training and empowering orphans and vulnerable children to help them, Be Secure, Be Healthy, Be Connected and Be Prepared.
We have had the chance to partner with ZOE to empower over 2,000 orphans in Rwanda and I can personally testify that ZOE has an incredible model for fulfilling their mission of Helping children never need charity again. You can find out more about ZOE Ministry on their website.
Praying for these kids
I appreciate your prayers for our team as we travel as well as the kids that we are supporting. For those who may not know how exactly to pray for these kids, let me offer you this model that comes from Ephesians 3:14-19. Simply place the name of each child you want to lift in prayer in the empty spaces.
For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen ________ with power through his Spirit so that Christ may dwell in _________ heart through faith. And I pray that __________, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that _________ may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.
